As part of our learning about rocks and soils, we took a trip to Castleton. We went down into Blue John Cavern and went all the way up to the summit of Mam Tor.
As well as learning about rocks and soils, we also recapped our Geography skills; using a map to locate the landmarks that we would be able to see from the summit of Mam Tor. After our trip, we went on to read a story all about Blue John, that was written by an author that lives in Castleton.
SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership. The services provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support. In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
