Admission Arrangements 2027-28
Staffordshire University Academies Trust wishes to formally consult regarding Westlands Primary School’s admissions arrangements for 2027/2028. In line with the School Admissions Code, we are required to carry out a public consultation with regards to changes to our Admissions Policy.
We are consulting on adding the Westlands Primary School to the overarching Admission Arrangements for the Trust and for the 2027/2028 admissions year.
We are also proposing the following changes to the current policy within the oversubscription criteria for the 2027-2028, detailed on pages 3, 4, 5 7, 8 and 9:
-
The removal of the priority for children on medical or hardship grounds
-
The addition of the priority for children who attended the school-based nursery and who are in receipt of Early Years Pupil Premium Funding (in academies with a school based nursery).
-
The addition of the priority for children of staff members in the school (where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made or where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post at the school for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage).
A full copy of the proposed admission arrangements can be viewed below.
Your opinions are important to us, and we are keen to receive your comments on the arrangements before they are formally approved. The consultation will close on 16th January 2026; all views and comments surrounding the proposed arrangements should be submitted no later than midday on 16th January 2026 to allow for the statutory consultation period of 6 weeks.
Please send your comments to: Office@suatrust.co.uk or Staffordshire University Academies Trust, Ashley 2 Building, University of Staffordshire, Leek Road, Stoke on Trent, ST4 2DF.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this consultation.
