A busy start to the school year with lots of exciting learning opportunities on offer to help the children settle into school routine and begin to develop friendships.

The children have been busy accessing a range of activities so far this term across all areas of learning. They have particularly enjoyed painting self-portraits, reading and retelling stories including ‘Owl Babies’ and ‘I went to School this Morning’ and exploring autumn objects. The children also enjoyed learning about Diwali ‘Festival of Light’ as they made their own Diva Lamps and took part in a celebration dance!

We also welcomed Terry Heath from Newcastle Library who came to share his favourite (and very funny) stories, along with a whole school poetry session led by Pep the Poet and a wonderful performance of The Secret Garden by M and M Theatre Productions.
