We had a great start to the year and it has been lovely to see the children settle into our routines and become more independent.
Our Autumn Term was certainly a busy one and we really enjoyed our Dinosaur topic. Here are just a few things we got up to…
Science – In Science we learnt all about Animals and humans. We discovered the different animal groups and learnt how to identify which groups certain animals belong in. We also looked at our senses and used our sense of smell to guess what was in the jars!
DT – We had great fun in DT designing a new windmill for a little mouse! Our designs were appealing, we explored axles and turbines and tested our windmills would turn in the wind.
Art – We listened to some classical music and created a collaborative piece of art. We used different media to draw lines that represented water .
English – In October we had a very exciting delivery of 3 dinosaur eggs! We did some brilliant writing all about them but unfortunately they escaped out of a window before we got chance to see what kind of dinosaurs they were!
As Christmas drew closer we had our Christmas party, Christmas jumper day, Christmas dinner and a very special visit from Santa. We thoroughly enjoyed learning all our songs for our Christmas performance and put on a fantastic show on the day.
A great half term getting to know the children, we are very proud of the progress they have made so far and we are looking forward to continuing their learning journey in the Spring Term!
